Mr. and Mrs. George Roussos opened their first restaurant in Mobile in 1954. Sons John and Jimmy joined them to open the first Roussos Restaurant on Battleship Parkway in 1973. Sadly it was completely destroyed by Hurricane Frederick in 1979. The Roussos family pulled together and relocated to Fort Conde Village next to the Fort Conde Welcome Center in downtown Mobile. In 2004 Roussos Restaurant moved to join the Eastern Shore Centre in Spanish Fort, Alabama.

The family has created a lively nautical environment to showcase their memorabilia highlighting the family's restaurant history and Greek heritage. Every area of the restaurant is available for viewing and customers are encouraged to enjoy the many photographs, awards and letters of appreciation. Tours are given of the dining areas and kitchen at all times.

Until his death in January of 2000, Mr. George was active in the restaurant he loved and founded with his sons. He was the first to arrive most mornings. Today his sons John and Jimmy and daughter Georgia handle the day-to-day operations and carry on the proud family tradition.

The Roussos' family philosophy is to welcome each customer into the restaurant as they would welcome a guest in their home. A member of the Roussos family is usually present and ready to serve you.

Roussos will cater any event from 100 to 10,000. From Mobile to Memphis, they will travel to your location and serve the best food you've ever eaten cooked on site!
